Strategic Planning

Strategic planning is my passion. If you aren’t clear on where you want to go, how can you ever get there? The strategic planning process starts with asking questions - where do you want to be, why, by when - and ends with everyone on the team understanding what he, she and they need to do to get there. Once the plan is underway, the process continues with check-ins on progress and adjustments along the way.

Finance

Every important business decision requires an understanding of the consequences. Call it cost/benefit analysis or effort/impact analysis or NPV analysis or anything else. Finance is about more than just dollars and cents. It’s about understanding and using data to make business decisions. In the end a lot of data gets translated into dollars and cents in order to make decisions - the decision is only as good as the information (data) going into it.

Human Resources

The success of any plan depends on the people executing it. In my experience, in-house Human Resources departments are often too busy with the daily tasks of employee relations to spend much time on the bigger picture. I want to help you understand your human resources needs and together create a plan to fill those needs. To be effective, I need to understand your existing team and where you want them to take the business.

process improvement

Process improvement is about working smarter instead of harder - and it applies on the production line as much as in the accounting department. In this area there is an abundance of tools - DMAIC, Lean, etc. The goal is the same: understand what is going on, figure out how to change or stop the actions that don’t add value, and track your progress so you can course correct when necessary.
